At Middletown Bible Church we are thrilled to be able to stand with missionaries throughout the world.
Our missions philosophy of ministry affirms the Great Commission as the mandate for the local church and missions as the intentional crossing of barriers by the Body of Christ to the lost through word and deed for the proclamation of the gospel. Therefore, we strive to for obedient pursuit of Christ’s commission:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age"(Matthew 28:19-20).
1. To mobilize the congregation and its resources for maximum, effective contribution to the Great Commission, i.e., world evangelism and discipleship,
2. To prayerfully allocate its resources for cross-cultural ministry opportunities locally, nationally, and globally,
3. To fortify existing missionary efforts, and
4. To send its own missionaries to send out into the mission field.
In that same policy, we define our responsibility to our missionaries.
MBC is committed to and will establish and maintain a missions impact team (MIT) to execute our following commitments:
1. Pray regularly, consistently, and faithfully.
2. Keep the missionaries constantly in front of the congregation, informing of prayer requests, needs, and works.
3. Communicate (at least) every two months.
4. Encourage the missionary.
5. Disperse monetary support in an orderly and timely fashion.
6. Nurture a ministry partnership with the missionary.
